Corrections
We would rather be corrected than left alone. Here is how that works, and what we will not do.
How to send one
Send it through the contact page and choose the subject that fits. Tell us the hotel, the sentence and what is wrong with it. If the correction rests on something published, a pointer to that material helps and shortens the exchange considerably.
What we change, and when
Plain errors of fact, name and place are changed as soon as we have read them. Where a room has been refitted or a collection moved, we rewrite the entry and reset the month on the Shelf checked line, which is the only signal on this site of how recent our reading is.
What we will not do
We do not remove an entry because a hotel asks us to, and we do not send text to a hotel for approval before it appears. A hotel is welcome to write, and what it tells us is treated as published material like anything else, weighed rather than adopted.
What VERIFY means in our notes
It marks a hotel whose current name, operator or shelf arrangement we have confirmed only in general terms. Those entries stay deliberately unspecific until stronger material appears. It is a note about our confidence, not a doubt about the house.
We do not pay for material, take payment to publish, or accept payment to change or withdraw anything. That includes corrections.
